ERgent (the "App") is provided by Titanite Group LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by its developer, Abraham Salazar, is an iOS application designed to help you quickly find the nearest emergency department (ER) based on your current location. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses, why it uses it, and how it is handled. ERgent is built to be a lightweight, focused tool — not a data business — and this policy reflects that.
By downloading, installing, or using ERgent, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Important Safety Notice
ERgent is a convenience tool to help locate nearby emergency departments. It is not a substitute for calling 911 (or your local emergency number). If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. ERgent is not affiliated with, and does not act on behalf of, any hospital, emergency department, or emergency medical service. Facility information, distances, and directions are provided for informational purposes only and may not always be complete, accurate, or current.
Information the App Uses
ERgent is built to use as little information as possible — only what's needed to find and route you to nearby emergency care.
Current Location
The App accesses your device's current location (via iOS Location Services) to identify emergency departments near you and calculate distance and directions. Location access requires your permission through iOS's system prompts. You can grant or revoke this permission any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > ERgent.
Map Address
The App uses map address data — such as the addresses of emergency facilities, and any address you manually search or enter — to display results and provide directions using Apple Maps/MapKit. This is used solely to power the App's mapping and navigation features.
How This Information Is Used
- To determine and display nearby emergency departments and their distance from you
- To generate directions and routing to a facility you select
- To operate the App's core, in-the-moment functionality — nothing more
Location and map address data are used in real time to power these features. They are not used for advertising, marketing, behavioral profiling, or any purpose unrelated to helping you find emergency care.
What We Don't Do
- We do not collect your data for our own use. Location and map data power the App's features in the moment and are not routinely gathered onto our servers.
- We do not sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party, under any circumstances.
- We do not profit from your data. ERgent does not monetize user data — no ad networks, no data brokers, no data licensing.
- We do not build advertising or tracking profiles. Your information is not used for behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking.
Subscription & Payment
ERgent is a subscription-based application, billed entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase (StoreKit) system. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple handles all billing directly. Apple may share limited transaction information with us, such as subscription status, so the App can unlock the features you've paid for. Apple's handling of payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
ERgent relies on Apple's MapKit and Core Location frameworks to provide mapping, routing, and location functionality. These frameworks operate under Apple's own privacy practices, viewable at apple.com/legal/privacy. We do not control how these system frameworks handle data at the OS level, and we do not direct Apple to share this data with us beyond what's needed for the App to function. If a future version of ERgent adds other third-party services — for example, crash reporting or analytics — this Privacy Policy will be updated to disclose them before they're enabled.
Service Area
ERgent's emergency department database currently covers select Southern California counties, including Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties. Results outside these areas may be incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Coverage may expand over time; check the App for current service areas.
Data Storage & Security
Where information must be briefly processed to deliver App functionality, we take reasonable technical measures appropriate for a tool of this kind. Because ERgent minimizes data collection by design, location and map data are generally processed transiently and are not retained by us beyond active use of a given feature. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
Because ERgent does not collect or store your location or map address data on our servers, there is generally no server-side copy of this information for us to retain or delete. Any data present on your device is subject to your own device settings and control, including through uninstalling the App.
Your Choices
- Location permissions: Adjustable any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > ERgent. Disabling location access will limit or disable the App's core functionality.
- Uninstalling: Removing the App from your device removes any locally stored app data.
- Subscription management: Manage or cancel your subscription any time through your Apple ID account settings.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you certain rights over personal information, including rights to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. Because ERgent does not sell personal information and does not collect personal information onto our servers beyond what's needed for on-device functionality, most of these provisions have limited application to the App. To ask about your rights, contact us below.
European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you're located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation may give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because ERgent processes location and map data on-device to deliver core functionality rather than collecting it onto our servers, our role as a data controller is limited. If you believe your GDPR rights are implicated by your use of the App, contact us below.
Children's Privacy
ERgent is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App's functionality, legal requirements, or our practices. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the App. Continued use of ERgent after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
ERgent is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Location and mapping data are supplied by underlying iOS system services and third-party map data, and may not always be accurate, complete, or current. ERgent does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and use of the App does not create any provider relationship. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of ERgent is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App — including delays or inaccuracies in locating emergency care. In any medical emergency, always call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.
